What is ovulation?
Every woman is born with millions of eggs in their ovary, in which only one matured or grown up egg is released from the ovary.Ovulation is the process in which a grown-up egg released from the ovary then reaches the fallopian tube and stays there for 12 to 24 hours.After intercourse the sperm can live upto 5 days in the female reproductive system, so that egg can be fertilized when that egg present in the fallopian tube. There is a high chance to get pregnant during the ovulation fertile window period, usually a fertile window lasts for nearly 6days before and after the ovulation day for regular menstrual cycle women.
How is the ovulation period calculated?
Generally the regular menstrual period lasts 28 days, so the ovulation period is two weeks or 14 days before the start of the next menstrual cycle. Suppose if you have irregular menstrual cycle it’s difficult to find the accurate ovulation period, it can approximately calculated by your last 3 months menstrual cycle and some symptoms before the ovulation period.
What are the symptoms of ovulation?
There are some symptoms of the female reproductive system face before and while ovulation period.
- Changes in Basal Body Temperature(BBT), BBT means temperature of the body while resting condition. During ovulation period body temperature may vary 0.4 to 1.0 degree than normal days.
- Sensitive breast, Breast tenderness and mild pain in some instance
- Cramps and Blood spotting from reproductive system
- Changes in cervical mucus consistency
- Nausea and headache
- Increased Libido
